We are a specialist recruiter, currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to join a leading housing provider in the South West with over 10,000 properties.

Using SQL server analysis, reporting and integration services you will produce and design reports by drawing data from our core corporate databases/systems. Day to day you will engage with the business to understand how they want to use the data, provide effective data analysis and ensure end users utilise the reports to their full potential.

The position will also be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of PowerBI; drawing data from all critical systems and sources to provide an interrogatable platform providing excellent actionable intelligence.

The post holder will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an analytical approach to problem solving. Whilst the key responsibility will be for analysis/intelligence related tasks, the post holder must understand and appreciate business performance, big data analytics, and using data to guide continuous improvement. The post holder must also be capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Main responsibilities of the Data Analyst:

  • Develop and maintain reports and subscriptions using SQL server reporting services and SQL server analysis services.
  • Develop and deliver analysis, dashboards and repeatable reporting
  • Play a consultative role to wider business colleagues by interpreting analytics to provide insights alighted to their objectives
  • Implement, develop, refine and promote PowerBI
  • Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
  • When required, active participation and support for any Business Insight function.
  • Share technical expertise, providing cross-training to other team members and end user training.

Technical skills & qualifications:

  • 3-5 years MS SQL Server (2008+) complex queriying and reporting using SQL Server Management Studio.
  • SSRS, SSIS and SSAS.
  • Extensive PowerBI development experience.
  • Exceptional Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivots, charting/presentation).

Relevant Experience:

  • Significant experience working in data analytics, visualisation, business intelligence or analytical consulting.
  • Demonstrable experience working with customers to build usable solutions exceeding their expectations.
  • Experience of OpenHousing/TotalMobile advantageous.

The position will form part of the Business Intelligence team. It is this team’s responsibility to guide business decision so the business is well informed, well prepared and all decisions are data led. The team is responsible for all of the company’s Research, Customer Insight, Business Insight, Business Analysis and Performance Management.

Salary and Benefits:

£35,000 DOE + 26 Days Annual Leave + Flexible working if required (The post holder will initially need to spend a minimum of 3 days per week on site in the Yeovil office in order to get established, but then this can reduce).
